Using Sony RX100 camera I shot lots of video clips in AVCHD format. Now I want to transfer to external HD. To find them you have to go in the 'private' folder on the SD and double click a single file called AVCHD. This brings up the clips as thumbs but does not allow multiple select and drag-and-drop. You must open them individually in QuickTime then save the file to HD one at a time. Super annoying!

Any advice?

I'm not sure you can change it if it's on the camera...but perhaps on the mac.
Did you try just selecting one file and doing a Copy and Paste?

What about using Terminal to copy/paste he file to your drive?

Code:
cp <source> <destination>

I don't actually know what that means, could you explain for my most basic understanding? Sorry.
[doublepost=1467721236][/doublepost]I googled copy/paste from the terminal, but this wouldn't work either, as all you'd be able to do is paste the file labelled AVCHD to the ex Hard Drive, which doesn't solve the problem of splitting it out into its component video file parts.

I understand that it just copies the file over. I was hoping that since you couldn't do what you want from the camera that maybe copying the file to your ext drive would allow you to get your clips.

Strange that you are unable to right-click and show the contents of that file. I did it on my friends MBP and was able to pull all the vid clips. She had the AVCHD file on her Mac, right-clicked and chose "show contents" and all the clips were there.
