iPad Pro Average battery life on iPad Pro 12.9’

Hi Guys,

Just wanting a show of numbers how many have noticed very average battery life on the 12.9" iPad Pro. This seems to be an issue with the Cellular version only, as several of my friends have Cellular versions and the battery life is also poor. The WiFi model seems to be fine.

Currently as of typing this message 1Hr 28 screen time and 85%. I had the previous gen iPad Pro 10.5" and was much better. Running iOS 12.1

According to mine, in the last 24 hours I’ve gone from a 50% battery level to, right this moment, 30%. With 3 hours 26 minutes of use.

I don’t think that’s too bad. But I’ll reserve judgment for another few days.
Of course I suppose a lot will depend on things like screen brightness and the kind of apps you’re running.

There is also likely a few days of updating depending on your setup ... I know my photos drained my battery syncing 100k+ photos even if just thumbnails ... battery is much better today than it was a few days ago

Yeah the re-indexing is a battery eater. I’d have hoped mine would be done by now, but you never know.

I’d be curious about a battery comparison between the new 11” & 12.9”. Yes, the 12.9” will have a bigger battery, but it’s also pushing more pixels. I wonder if they cancel each other out or one comes out on top?

I have to admit that battery life on my 12.9 LTE Pro is bothering me, it certainly doesn’t seem to be as good as my Gen 2 device was.

Wow that seems low. I just bought a 2018 iPad 9.7” and mine it’s reading just a hair under 8 hours and 40% battery life left. That’s with social media, gaming and YouTube.

It’s not drastically low to be fair, you’ve used 60% in 8 hours. Mine was 20% in 3 and a half hours. Even if I doubled my usage based on those numbers, in an incredibly unscientific way. It would be 40% of battery use for 7 hours.

A little too early,but so far I’m satisfied.
