.avi to dvd conversion

I have a sizable avi file that I want to convert to dvd. I downloaded ffmpegx but for some reason it isn't working properly.

Has anybody used this program? Can somebody explain to me how to use it?

Thx for the link but their version of ffmpegx is outdated. I can't exactly force ffmpegx to encode the file with quicktime which the website suggests.

I've never had any problems with ffmpegx. What version are you running?

AVI or MPEG to DVD

I too, am pulling out hair trying to figure out how to do this. I see tons of downloads for pc, but not for mac. Is it possible to do this on the cheap? Is it possible to do without having to download a pharmacy's worth of codecs and binaries? I just spent 45 minutes downloading FFmpgX and all the components, and it's just made my head spin faster. Hey, I don't write code, but I'm no idiot. Just puzzled. Can one of you kind souls help?

Use 'Popcorn' or 'DVD2oneX'.
