Well, Avid Xpress is ~$40,000(complete system). Avid XpressDV is $1600(software only). So I'd assume this is some where between $2000-$40,000.

1,699 for Avid Xpress Pro (299 Upgrade from XDV)
1,699 for the Mojo Hardware
And Media Composer is now $25,000!!!!?!?!?! There is no Hardware Xpress (and there is no more Hardware Media Composer)

Media Composer now has 5 streams of uncopmpressed SD in real time!

Confused about this system
This product has me a little confused. What exactly is it, a real-time DV converter with editing software and RAID or an uncompressed video converter with all that stuff? Does it come with its own software or is it meant to complement a separate software purchase (such as Avid Xpress DV)?
Anyway, the device that I would prefer to use was announce by AJA Video Systems today. It is a FireWire analog to digital converter that records and plays back uncompressed video with 24 bit 96 kHz audio. It is called Io and it would be a great way to edit with Final Cut Pro 4.

Just found it myself. That F*&kin rocks and was what i was talking about what apple should do themselves.
My one qualm about the IO is that it doesn't include a Video Character Out to allow you to view T/C in Vision - without it being 'Burnt In Timecode'.
Otherwise this is what i've been preaching!
Come on Apple its your turn to unify things and do it properly.
All of AVID Products use above DVXpress and Xpress specificaly need dedicated hardware to process both the audio and video - Do you have 10Bit Uncompressed SDI connectors on the back of your powerbook? Wordclock? RS422 even? http://www.avid.com/products/product_list.asp?marketID=1
Media Composer has always been v expensive - this is why Apple FCP systems are looking more and more like a good Offline option to professionals/companies on a budget.
This is gonna be a fierce battle between Apple and AVID.
Whoever wins i'll be happy, becuase it can only good for the industry - and thus my job!

It sounds like MC Adrenaline is a mid level MC XL replacement. It looks like if you need all the big guns you'll still need an MC running the workhorse Meridean hardware. I'm assuming that in the next year or two Meridean will be entirely replaced by DNA. I think the 25k price will get you the DNA and software but not the computer to run it on.
Boskie, I don't think Apple would ever release a turnkey system (like you mentioned in another thread) because post prodution is not their gig. Getting into the turnkey market is a whole 'nother beast and I don't see Apple expanding into it.

I think given a timeframe a of a couple of years and the combination of the technologies they have aquired/developed puts them in a prime position to re-take the reigns of the post industry - it was there own fault they lost it, when it was predominantly theres, when they turned their back on AVID on produced powermac's without 4 PCI slots. Hence the world, or at least AVID, turned to windows.
I know an Apple Turnkey system is a dream, but it certainly makes me wet!
