AW Series 3 LTE - no call notification when phone is paired with 2015 Camry

My Watch has not been notifying me of incoming phone calls while my phone is paired to my 2015 Toyota Camry Bluetooth system. Is this normal or is there a setting that is wrong. I would like to receive notifications all of the time if possible. What is the fix if any? Thanks!

Which radio do you have n the Camry.
I have the XLE with the premium non-jbl radio.
I haven't thought to pair the watch to the radio but will later today.

To be clear - when you get a call is the radio ringing and not the watch?

I have the SE.

The radio rings and the watch doesn't ring. It only notifies me if I miss a call.

I haven't paired the watch with the car. I was under the impression this wouldn't work.

If you are in your car and your phone is paired with your watch and your car Bluetooth does your watch still ring? I think mine did when I first set up the watch but I cannot remember.
