Hey Guys. Just wanted to share my experience with Apple Care. Apple products are amazing but I am sticking with Apple just because its customer service exceeds my expectation all the time.
I had an iphone 3g white which was 13 months old. I had apple care on it which I bought off from ebay for arnd $40.
My iphone started developing cracks which is typical of a white iphone. I stopped by an Apple store and got my iphone swapped within 10 mins. Once I got back home, I realised the Wifi wasn't working. Did restore a couple of times but no go. Called Applecare and the sent me a replacement the next day. Unfortunately, this one had a defective vibrator. At this point I was losing faith in apple refurb quality.
Anyways, I called apple care and politely asked the rep if he was in my place what would he do. He transfered me to a senior admin rep and they offered me a BRAND NEW 3gs. On top of that, he suggested me to take a refund for my applecare since the new phone came with one year warranty.
Getting a new phone was awesome and that too a 3GS.
After a few days, I called to check the status of my Applecare refund. They asked me to send a proof of purchase which I didnt have (since I got it from Ebay). Surprisingly the rep told me I bought the applecare from Walmart. I am not sure if walmart even sells applecare. They offered me a mere $25 refund since i couldnt give them a proof. I was happy too since I got a new phone. Today, I got a check of $73 from apple as a refund for my applecare.
Its amazing how it apple takes care of its customers.
Did anyone one of you had such an experience? I am sure a lot.

Comeon.. I am not saying Apple products are lacking in quality. Don't you this customer service is as important as important as product quality?

That was me saying that :p

It seems like Apple HAVE TO have excellent customer service, because of the number of returns they get.. if they had bad customer service then people wouldn't keep going back to them for multiple replacements, they would just buy another product.

Thats exactly why I bought an apple after buying an HP, Compaq and Dell. All three of them sucked and their cust service was horrible too.
Apple quality is one of the best in the industry. no doubt on that. On top of that its backed up with an amazing cust service.
On a side note, I worked for Dell Tech support for one yr

+1

My mother bought HP laptop last year and the battery just died in 10 months...it showed full battery but it just died after 15 minutes. The laptop is good but the customer care sucked. They told me it was normal and they didn't repace the battery so my mother had to pay $100+ for a new battery. This sucks as my brother got the screen(the whole top part) and the superdrive replaced for free (the actual repair cost was around $1000) without any questions of his MBP...apple rules...

One of the many tools of an iPhone. "There's an app for that"

I thought only my teenage mind got that..glad I'm not alone. Haha..On a serious note apple seams to lately be "slopping together" iPhones...broken wifi and er um vibration is pretty bad...then again the people on MR are OCD to the max about there phone developing blemishes.

Under the bridge, there be...

May the FACTS fly in your FACE - Apple has the highest customer satisfaction (by a significant margin) WHY? Because so many people have had their "awful" products replaced when they are defective?

Obviously, you're far too clever to fall for the old "satisfy the customer till you're blue in the face" trick that Apple plays on ALL their customers. Not YOU, of course - you wouldn't own one of these "awful" computers, you're far too clever! Which begs the question - why are you on this forum?

(trollbait - see if he bites)

just curious

I'm here because believe it or not, I love the iPhone.. I think it's the most fun and intuitive phone out there. I'm just not an Apple "fan" - I can criticise them as well as like their products.

Personally, there was never anything wrong with my iPhone when I had one, other than bad speakers (I had a 1st gen iPhone and the audio quality on that was poor!) I just don't see how people can go to an Apple store several times with problems with their devices, and actually walk away happy. If I'm paying so much for a device I would expect it to bloody work :D

wow, cool story bro.

haha but reli, thats awesome, these things NEVER happen to me lol. but then again, i barely got my iphone for 3 weeks and its my first iphone :D and only 2nd apple product, (black 8gb ipod nano).
