iPhone X Awful stand by battery life

Hey all,

So I left my XS Max at 84% with the screen off, came back after 35 minutes and it’s at 80%? The same has been happening with my X but since the battery health pointed at 95% I thought it was something related to that but guess not. What’s up with awful stand by drain? No Apps have been consuming energy with the screen off.

I do not have the best cell signal, might be that? Should I make a stand by test without a SIM card?

If you have weak signal battery will drain for sure.

A weak signal could explain it. You could try airplane mode to prove it.

Can cases affect the cell signal? I never took so much attention at this.

I travel quite a bit and anytime I go to a different state or country with less cellular signal than I normally have at home, I can definitely tell a difference in battery life.

I think it’s ios 12. We’ve got a few ‘older’ iPhones in our house that are running markedly different with battery life on 12. I hardly dipped below 50% with a standard day’s activities. I go below 20% now.

It seems to be cell signal related, with AirPlane mode I lost 1% only so now I'm not sure how to fix this because I rely on cell connection.
