Awful video quality since upgrading to macOS Sierra

Hello, guys! I've noticed that playing Youtube videos in HD looks really bad after upgrading to the latest macOS software. I'm running it on a 13' Macbook air (mid 2013). How can i fix that?

I'm attaching a screenshot from a video which is supposed to be playing in 1080p.

Are the problems the same through a different Internet browser?

Also go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Displays and ensure the resolution is set to 'Default for display'.

Likely you were using Flash before, which is now turned off in Safaris preferences.

I usually use Safari, but Google Chrome seems to be working equally as bad concerning video quality.

Youtube plays videos through Flash or HTML5...

It may be the software that plays your movies, so it is the de facto reason for the quality of your video.

i'd had this problem too (when i was on sierra public beta). now i'm on el capitan.
