My girlfriend recently got an AWS10, and one of the functionalities she’s interested in is time in daylight. Under Settings > Privacy, Time in Daylight is on, but in Time in Daylight in the Health app, it keeps saying there are no data sources. My AWS8 has picked up three hours of daylight time today, hers none.

Both the iPhone and the Watch have the recent .0.1 software update installed. I’ve also unpaired the Watch, but after pairing the issue remains. I don’t know whether it’s the same sensor, but the screen brightness does change with different lighting.

Before I get back to Apple, is there anyone with any additional troubleshooting ideas?

Does the watch show as a source for like calories and such? In the Health app?
Did you set it up as new or deal restore? I suggest setting up as new

Since you already did the un-:re-pair activity, I’d contact Apple

Yes every other metric (activities, sleep, vitals, etc) is behaving as it should. And yes I set it up as new, so I think I’ll be contacting Apple tomorrow. Thanks!

This may sound very obvious, but... Will she be wearing long sleeves or something that covers her watch?
Yeah she was most of the time, but so was I with the three hours I hit. I sat outside this morning with both watches on my wrists and still nothing, sadly.

Well, if the watch isn’t listed as a source for that metric … and yes if course, wearing something that covers the watch will not give you the “credit”

Have you actually toggled that setting a couple times? And reboot inveteeen, that’s the only other thing I can think off.

Add: did you toggle on watch itself or on watch app on phone? Try both methods and reboot after changing the settings

Yes the Watch has been exposed to light with and without sleeves during the day, during which I’ve toggled the privacy setting about ten times with two reboots (phone and watch) and the re-pairing as a new Watch. That’s all I can think of as well.
