I'm worried that some simple back cracks will extend easily over the camera sensors...
Also the glass has 2 bumps, which translates into even easier damaging...

The phone back and the camera lenses are two different sets of components.

are you sure? From the event I believe I heard 1 piece.
I heard that too. They said the back glass was machined from a single piece of glass. The camera housings were mounted to it and secured from the inside which was shown during the part of the video when they were machining the inside of the phone. So it looks like if you crack the back you still have to have the phone replaced...

And force you to repair because of cracks over the cameras. And I bet it will cost like 500$.

Or get a skin/case for it to cover it up. I actually think it’s a step backwards because if the crack is across the camera bases, you’ll have a hell of a time trying to cover it up if you don’t have AppleCare+ for a more reasonable replacement cost..

The lenses are covered in a sapphire glass then have a metal surround.
Outside of that is a single piece of glass that forms the 'bump' and the main back of the phone.
Simple answer is don't drop it, whatever it's made of :)
