iPhone Back in the game! Aka my jailbroken iPhone replacement story.

so my iPhone that i had problems with later this week i took in today to be replaced. the kid before me said to the genius "yeah, go ahead and update it for me" (meaning his replacement of the same model phone as me.) so i thought maybe i am in luck. the "genius", after a half hour of arguing with me saying they would not replace my phone even though it did not work and i had ac plus, pulls out a box, opens it, and after setup, i saw iOS 7.0.x icons so i opened settings and..... 7.0.4.

So anyways, the resin i posted this is to kind of complain about applecare... so my phone had an obvious hardware issue, and after doing multiple restores and losing my jailbreak, the problem never went away, so i took it in and the manager himself said he could not replace it if it could not be replicated... i showed him 3 crash reports saying that network was failing, and also another crash report that took forever to scroll down that was stacks.mobilephone crashing. not buying applecare ever again. i'd rather have geeksquad.

It's not AC+. It's the geniuses. And these guys are just the front line guys. You can also call Apple or go to a different store. Thankfully they pulled their heads out of their collective rear ends and honored the comittment.

I've never dealt with Geeksquad so I can't speak to that.

Glad you got a jailbreakable iPhone though!

Yeah it's the geniuses. For example, the geniuses at Apple Aventura in Miami are ********s.

The ones at Galleria in Ft. Lauderdale are much nicer however. Their policies, while following guidelines, are much more lax and they will take a customer's word for what it is, should it be reasonable of course. It's not like they lose anything by doing so.

The genius at my local apple store is pretty cool, my moms speaker on her iPhone died and her phone had random crashes. The genius said they usually only replace the speaker but since I said it crashes and I restored the phone so there weren't any crash logs he will replace for new phone.

Well, i sent a complaint to apple about this particular genius since i had problems with her before. But she got mad that i restored my phone before coming in... I was not taking it in jailbroken lol

why would she get mad? dont they reccomend that you restore your phone before taking it in, to see if that resolves the issue

thats exactly what i told her! she told me to not do that so they can see crash reports... there was 3 in settings... maybe apple knows i jailbreak lol, trying to catch me.
