Transmit and Fetch are both good. Fetch is free if you're a student. Both are pretty cheap even if you're not. CyberDuck is a reasonably good free FTP client. There's another free one called Fugu, but I've never been able to get it to work right. Lastly, command line FTP is pre-installed in OS X, but you have to be good with a UNIX command line to really use it.

Personally, I like Fetch best, so I use it.

Thanks. I tried to apply for the edu license for Fetch but when I submitted it I kept getting this....The requested URL /Licensing/edustore.formmail.php was not found on this server.

I sent them an email to hopefully resolve this.

decent FTP app

I've also recetnly switched back to a mac.
I tried Fetch, but wasn't that impressed.

Currently I'm using CuteFTP Pro.
I thinks its a great application, and used to use it on my PC.

It appears to have more functionality than Fetch, and works like the FTP apps I'm used to.
I think the cost is $39, but maybe there are free versions. (http://www.globalscape.com)

I'll fourth it. I've tried a lot of other cheaper/free FTP programs, and I've always come back to Transmit (Or Transport, as it used to be called).

I say fifth! Or am I # 6 already?! Love transmit, especially the edition for os 9. That was soooo simple, that I still use it. It has everything to upload a webpage or synchronize it. I also do a bit of webdesign.

I nth it (not sure of the current count). Transmit is fantastic, and the Dashboard widget is great as well!

I've liked Transmit as well...and, I think there is a drag and drop widget for it too...or something. Some kind of a widget is out there for it! I swear!

I use CyberDuck. It's really nice. You can get it on MacUpdate.com :)

Transmit is nice, but for free, I'd pick CyberDuck,

Yeah, I'd get Trasmit if I used FTP a lot, but I don't use it much, so Cyberduck serves me well.

Transmit is great, and I agree with the previous poster: the Transmit Dashboard widget has saved me so much time...
