Back to My Mac NAT Port weirdness

Hi. I know that problems with MobileMe are far from unusual, but I can't find any other examples of this one.

On my Macbook Pro I had some trouble setting up Back to My Mac because it took me ages to figure out how to set my router up for NAT sharing. I eventually managed it and was able to turn on Back to My Mac.

Now, with exactly the same settings and router, my Macbook Air tells me I can't turn on Back to My Mac because my router 'doesnt support NAT port mapping'. This is the error message I used to have on my MBP but which is know fixed, despite both machines having exactly the same settings

Any ideas?

its correct

If i'm not mistaken back to my mac uses port 5900 on incoming connection. if you are at home and only use single IP ISP as pretty much everybody does, you can only redirect one port 5900.

are you trying to connect to MBP and macbook air from outside of your network and another computer?

I was trying to connect to my MBP from my Air when outside my network. I don't need to do it, but I thought it would be cool to try and was supposed to be a feature of 'back to my mac'. I am on the free mobile me trial and this seems to be a feature that only works in a few rare cases.

I am now trying logmein.com for remote access... and unsure where the convenience of synchronised calendars and contacts (which is pretty much all I benefit from mobile me) is worth it. mind you, the synced home folder is pretty nice too

if you Air is outside of your home network u don't need to configure it. that back to my mac screen on AIR is for incoming connections not outgoing.
