Back to my Mac when away from my network

Can I use Back to my Mac to play iTunes music stored on my MacBook from my Air when I am away from my local network? Is the streaming good?

Yeah I would like to know. How useful is it, I mean can you watch movies using it. What about an NAS on you network, can you you Back to My Mac to connect to it and watch movies, listen to music on your laptop while away from the network.

Locally you don't need BTMM to do this. Over the internet, No you can not....
