Hello all-

I currently own a PC and after the home repairs slow down I will be purchasing a Mac, preferably an iMac. I am a Graphic Designer and have Unfortunately not been backing up.

My PC froze today and now the drive with all my photos and Freelance work is not booting. I want/need to try and transfer that over to another drive to maintain some deadlines. I have been looking at purchasing a Western Digital Book External Drive but am unsure which to buy that will work with both Mac and PC.

For now, it will be used as a backup for my PC, once I buy a Mac, I may see about using it across both worlds (wife wants to continue using the PC so she can get on anytime, not just when I am not using it) Any suggestions...

MyBook Mirror
MyBook Studio
MyBook World Edition

I am on the WD site and trying to figure the difference out but not too sure....OR should I go for a Time Capsule and see if that should do both jobs too.

Thanks in advance.

Ok well the bes t way to get that data is if u cant boot just pop out the drive and put it in a HD enclosure u can get one from http://www.newegg.com for around $10 just make sure it has the right adaptor/connections. than just plug it into another computer and bang u have all ur data back plus an external HDD assuming u want something with some room form backing up a mac l8er on u will want to get the My Book Studio (its aluminum so it matches perfectly) depending on what size HDD u are going to get in the iMac i would say just double that size so if u have 500GB in the mac like i do get a 1TB (get the studio not the studio "II" or "2" because the studio "2" is a dule drive set up and u most likely dont need that)
