Hi all,

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

In summary - my MacBook is full and almost the majority is my collection of photos which are stored in Apple Photos and I want to delete some pictures (from 2005 - 2010) from the Photos Library stored on the computer, but not from the Photos Library on the External Hard Drive.

Every year or so I back up my Photos Library onto an External Hard Drive by dragging and dropping the 'Photos Library' from Pictures, onto the hard drive.

My MacBook being at full capacity means I need to clear out some space so I was thinking of deleting all photos I took prior to 2010.

What is the best way of going about this, and how, at the same time, can I ensure that when I back up the photos library next year, it retains the pre-2010 photos which I deleted from the computer hard drive, but not the external hard drive?

Thanks

This doesn't solve your problem, but...
... are you backing up your external hard drive, as well as the internal drive?

My main priority at the moment is making my computer usable. I cant even check emails at the moment because no space left!
