Does using backgrounder on an iPhone 3G slow down the iphone a lot?

I figure that using it on a bunch will, but what about just one at a time?

Say Simplify Music in background and Beejive in frontground?

can anyone confirm if this really slows it down?

Since both of those apps are mostly network consuming I would think you would be fine. As long as you are not running a lot of memory hogging applications then I would suspect some lag.

i've also wondered this as i have a 3g jailbroken phone, i purposely didn't install winterboard and my phone has no lag or battery drain, but would loading backgrounder kill the phones battery and lag it as well?

i have lived without backgrounder but it would be nice to be able to use safari while i have pandora on. is just having backgrounder installed going to hurt the battery or lag the phone or only if you use it a lot and often?

If you want to have Pandora in the bg without backgrounder, install Music controls from Cydia. Its free, but you need to pay for it in order to turn on or off some of the options. The basic functionality is there so you dont really need to pay for it. You can also used double to change tracks from both the homescreen and lockscreen, I love this app. I have 3gs with musiccontrols/backgounder/winterboard/kirekae so I don't know if it will slow down your 3g.

i guess i could try that thanks. if anyone who has a 3g and uses backgrounder can chime in and let me know how the phone performs with minimal use of the feature i would appreciate it.

if it only slows the phone down when in use and doesnt effect it when not in use then it be worth it for me cause i'd only use it sparingly
