IM+ quits the moment I press home button. I don't see the point of this app if it isn't capable of running in the background. Backgrounder app on cydia claims to do this. Anyone tried running backgrounder with IM+??

yep works just fine i'm using safari or scroll through music while still getting IMs its lovely :D

It let me run it in the background just fine, too. Do you get any indication when you receive a message, though? I just switched to Fring and it does beep and vibrate when I get a message when it's running in background.

anirudh, are you holding down the Home button until you get the message saying background function is enabled instead of just pressing it and letting it go?

I pressed the home button until the message popped up. It ran ok for a while, now IM+ simply refuses to connect. Even though I am able to browse on safari n check my mails, IM+ tells me that no Internet connection is available.

I've had palringo and now Fring stay connected in the background and receive rings and notifications when new calls/msgs come in. As far as I see from my testing Fring server doesn't kick me out/time out even after long connection time.

backgrounder is awesome for having Pandora play in the background too.

I'm trying to write the plist file to have fring run automatically in the background, and I was wondering if anyone knew the bundle identifier for fring.

Thanks in advance.

Careful, it drains about 30-40% in 8 hours during sleep.
