Hey Everybody!

Here is the situation...

My friend has an iPhone 4.

The iPhone 4, to the best of my knowledge, has no iCloud account access. It also cannot be upgraded to the newest IOS that has iCloud access.

For that reason, as far as I know, it cannot be backed up online.

Can my friend back up his iPhone 4 on my Mac and restore the information on his new iPhone 7?

Now mind you, the Mac is under my name with my iCloud account. Will it still allow me to back up and restore someone else's information?

Also, is there a way someone with an iPhone 4 can get iCloud access to backup their phone online?

Thanks for the help!

C DM,

Thank you for the answer.

Need some further information....

My friend is on an old iOS platform due to a jailbreak. It is the version of iOS before iCloud storage was introduced.

It's my understanding that iPhone 4 cannot be upgraded to the current iOS.

How do I get iCloud storage access for that phone?

Thank you again!

iPhone 4 can be updated to the latest version that it supports, which I believe is the last iOS 8 update.

Ah, okay. That will allow an iCloud backup then.

Many thanks!
