If i broke my iPhone (by mistake) will I be able to sync a new one to iTunes and get all my messages, photos, apps, ring tones and settings on the new one?

Sorry i am kinda new to the iPhone, i dropped my Nokia a few months back into the pool and was able to restore all the info to a new one i bought.

Yes, you'll just restore from a backup when you hook up the new one.

Backups contain the following:
SMS Messages
Contacts
Settings
All Application Settings (like saved games and app settings - however, this is partially up to the developer to implement)
Wallpaper image
Bookmarks
Calendar Events
Phone Favorites
Voicemail Messages
Notes (if not being synced with notes on your computer)
call logs, recent call list, call timers, voicemails
stocks
weather cities
camera roll photos (no other photos)
app locations/placement (on 3.0 ONLY, saves what pages and locations you kept your apps)

It does NOT backup:
Contacts
Calendars
Emails
Apps
Music
Videos
Photos
Ringtones
(Basically everything that you should have saved on your computer or mail service)
