Backing up and restoring individual apps

I am looking for suggestions for a backup service either Apple or some other that allows you to backup and restore individual apps? To my knowledge iCloud does not do this. I don’t care if I have to pay for it either. There has been several instances where I have had Apple Genius Bar appointments where I have had some type of software problem and they want me to set up my phone or iPad as a new device and not restore from a backup. When you do this you loose any progress or any apps information you have that depends on the iPhone or iPad backup service. Thanks in advance for any suggestion you might have
