I've got a Jailbroken iPhone 3G. Running 2.2 software. iTunes 8.2

Since upgrading to iTunes 8.2 (like a dummy), I've been unable to sync anything. No music, photos, etc.

I want to upgrade to 3.0 but since my contacts will not sync via iTunes, I will surely lose them. I know they're not syncing because when I check the box to sync Contacts, newly added contacts from my iPhone do not appear in my Address Book.

I need legit alternatives to successfully back up my Contacts. All of the apps I've looked into simply take your contacts and SPAM the hell out of 'em. I don't want that.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If I use Google to sync my contacts, my Google (Gmail) contacts won't override my iPhone contacts?

Don't use google sync until you have uploaded your contacts to google first. Google sync uses exchange and if activated, any contacts on your phone will be wiped.

Thanks.
So what's the best way to upload my iPhone contacts to Google? Hell, I'm opening a new Gmail account JUST so the Contacts there are blank, starting from scratch, just for the purpose of getting around this issue.
