Hi all,

Over the years, I have lost data (negligible) across the spectrum (Notes, Photos, Reminders) due to syncing issues. I am interested in backing up the data from these services, externally, to either an external HDD or Google Drive. However, Apple don't make it easy in accessing our own raw data (Notes for instance are contained in a SQL database) if I was to simply backup the local files for these services (via Finder).

Interested to hear if anyone has a backup system in place of core iCloud services for peace of mind, and how you do this.

Cheers.

If you want all your data as it appears on device, go to appleid.apple.com and request your data. After several days, Apple will inform you that your data is ready to download in zip files.

I also suggest using the app imazing to backup things that are important to you.

Thanks for this suggestion - do you know if this backup process can be automated via Automator?
