Backing up iphone?

Can you back up all your contacts, texts, photos ect... before jailbreaking?

I'm about to jailbreak my iphone and can't find anywhere that say whether you can back up and restore these items.

I'm about to jailbreak my iphone and can't find anywhere that say whether you can back up and restore these items.

iTunes backs up your phone everytime you sync it, after restoring and activating it, iTunes will ask if you want to set it up as a new phone or restore from a backup.

Does that mean though that it will remain unlocked and jailbroken? What exactly gets backed up in itunes?

All your settings, what to sync etc, text messages...

Nope, unless you upgrade or restore again your iPhone should stay unlocked and jailbroken
