Hello
I tend to loose or ruin my installer cds so I keep duplicates in a safer place then my floor (I kid, I kid). but when I tried to back up Panther installer cds using Disk Copy the .dmg file is 706.1 mb and it wont fit in a cd
what yalls suggest I do to back backup these isntallers ans still have them work as bootable disks.

thanks

Try Toast

I backed up mine with Toast, something like 647.6MB for each of the 3 discs. I have never used Apple's Disc Burner/Disk Copy for anything, so I can't help with your specific issue.

Good luck!

are you able to use the disks as bootable disks? I've heard that when you use the copy function on toast it doesn't allow for the copied version to be a bootable disk?¿

They boot just fine

I actually backed it up first and then tried the install from the backup. No troubles on a PowerMac G4 or TiBook. That's with Toast 5.2, I'm almost positive that even an earlier version would work too...
