Has anyone used this software before? I want to back up my texts, because I plan on selling my 3G since I got a 3GS. I don't understand if I'm just missing something, but I don't understand how I'm supposed to back up my texts?
Thanks for any help.
Here's a link, if no one has used it before.

i thought you were asking here because you wanted to know if it's worth its price, but it's free. Why not just try it?

EDIT: iTunes does backup texts, but you cant read them on a computer. When you get a new iPhone and choose to sync from your old iPhone's backup, they will show up on your new iphone

Well, don't I feel stupid. Everyone I talked to told me it wouldn't back them up. Thanks!

just wondering, but why would you (or anyone in general) want to back up SMS (I'm not talking about the 'all encompassing' iTunes backup that backs up SMS by default)? I usually clear all my SMS and call history every hour. What could be said in an SMS that'd be worth savoring to the point of taking up disc space either on your phone or computer?

You're the only person I know that goes through the trouble of clearing your SMS and call history every hour. The real question is why do you do that? I can see if you cleared it once every month or so, but every hour? You're just a flat out weirdo. Sorry for being so blunt.

For me the main reason for wanting to back up my SMS is because sometimes you're trying to remember something that someone said, an address or a phone number and you can just look through your text history to find it. Sometimes someone sent you a joke and you want to show it to other people.

Also, you're worried about the disk space? That's a joke right? One song on iTunes takes up more room then all your texts and calls logs would.

Don't always believe what you're told. See the iPhone User Guide that you have as a bookmark in safari. It tells you what is and is not backed up (actually gives you a link to Support and tells you to search for HT1766). It tells you a lot of things. Also let google be your friend (and MR search and of course, mroogle). Just a FYI.

dev seems to have abandoned.. i tried looking for an email on the site but nada :(

seems like a great app - i'd even donate to the cause!

Yes, haha...I was joking about disc space man. Sarcasm my friend, but I do clear my call/text history at least once or twice a week. Ok, I see your need to save stuff...

hey now thats not true, I'm in a great relationship ;) :p and I honestly receive a lot of lovey dovey texts.... I mean, I'm already at 4,600 texts (98% with the girl) mid billing cycle ;)

So, yea, I'm just a weirdo with keeping my computers and phone as clutter free as possible. Guess I'm weird haha...but it's worked out for me:D
