Backing up TV shows onto DVD

Hey all,

I have a bunch of TV shows that I bought on DVD (ie 24, Seinfeld, Lost).

Im interested in copying them for backups on DVD. My questions are:

What program would be ideal for copying such shows? Each DVD of 24 has atleast 4 episodes on them, plus extra features (which I dont think I need)

Would I lose quality in copying them?

How many DVDs would I need per four episodes?

Anything else?

Mactheripper works well if you want to put the dvds on your computer. Toast 7 can create backups of the DVD's and burn them onto a DVD-r that you can use in a reagular dvd player.
