I have an Air 4, 3 months old, and there is slight backlight bleeding on the bottom left corner.

it is subtle, however you can notice it in dark. I know its nothing but its still a fresh device, I never ever dropped it and I heard things like this will get worse.

what do you think? Should I push to get this fixed? I expect customer service to tell me I must have caused it, or they cannot see it or anything to not get it fixed

I mean... Are you always looking at a black screen when it's the most obvious? Do you notice it during regular use?

I'd say it's pretty normal. You're outside of your return window, so I don't know if they'd do anything about it. If you were within you return window, you could have tried another one, but it's pure luck whether you'd get a perfect one or not.

Yeah I kinda notice it sometimes. Obviously I could live with it, but you know if its a sign that the hardware is faulty or its going to get worse then I dont want to wait for that.

Usually it is just the luck of the draw whether there'll be backlight bleeding, I have not heard of it getting worse over time. Depending on what the Apple mothership allows they might replace it. But since it is pretty minor we really can't guarantee they'll switch it out.

With previous Apple product launches there have been people who returned their device due to some display issue, tint or whatever, and ordered it again, twice, thrice, and ended up with a different small issue each time. The next replacement might just have minor backlight bleeding again.

Since the Store obviously won't be excited to replace a working display, you'd probably have to do a bit more than ask nicely, complaining that you would have exchanged it immediately but needed it urgently and assumed Apple would take care of it later down the road... expect a discussion with the store manager.

For how the Air is advertised and priced I would not be too happy with this either, since this display is supposed to be "featuring advanced technologies" and then has the same basic issue that plagues cheap tablets for half the price.

Yet I probably wouldn't bother bringing it to the Store, it really is minor. If it bothered me that much I'd have exchanged it in the initial return window. But it is disappointing that Apple advertises their displays like crazy and then they sell them like that. The 256GB Air goes for nearly as much as a Macbook after all.

If it's new and it doesn't inconvenience you to replace it, why not. But if you don't see it the majority of the time you use it (i.e. in the day, or not forcing your display to max brightness on a black screen just to remind yourself it's there), then I don't think I'd bother. From that picture, it looks too subtle to be very noticeable.
