How do i get my keyboard backlight to always stay on? when ever i try to turn it on i get a circle with a line through it like a cancel symbol.

That happens when there is no need for the backlight, (it's daytime!). It's weird that Mac OS X just refuses to do what you tell it to, I would imagine you could find an application or script somewhere that could do the job though.
