Backed up everything via Backup 3 today and copied it over to my external drive. Reformatted my iMac and installed everything. Came to restore my backup and apparently it's copied zero of my music files. I selected the option to copy all my music files and even selected my entire home directory to be backed up including ALL files within. So, the fullbackup file is 80GB or so. My music was 60GB and all other files (photos, mail etc) totalled about 15GB. The file IS about 80GB but Backup says it's 5.38GB. I've just rescanned and now Backup says the file is 31GB?! What is going on? Have I lost all my Music files? If yes, it's a bloody...I don't know. Arg, that's all I can say. Help!

Update: everytime I open up the backup for my home folder it rescans and finds more GB's worth of stuff but nothing updates. What's the beef?!

Try this...

Go to your backup file. Right click on it and get the package contents. Then go to the contents folder and mount the image that's in that folder. See if that helps...

Hey Nuc,
I did this last night actually and all the music is there...but why?! It did nothing for my nerves and I'm still baffled as to why it refuses to backup my music files.
