iPhone Backup and app syncing

If I put my phone's backup on my ipod, will I be able to go into kik on my ipod for example, use that, and then start using it on my phone?

The question is confusing

"If" you are trying to get the settings, progress, etc in a particular app from one device to another, there is a Cydia app called DataDeposit (free) that allows backing up individual apps to Dropbox. Then go in on the other device and grab the backup which imports it to the other device.

Kik deletes conversations when you are logged out or switch devices so it wont work
