Backup Contents of iPhone Without iTunes?

Hi,

I don't want to sync the contents between my iPhone and iTune but I really need to backup (and restore) music, photos, videos etc. I want something that works for ver 1.14 and ver 2.2 because I don't want to start from scratch after jailbreaking 1.14 to 2.2.

Any advice please?

You'll have to connect to your computer for jailbreaking anyways so why not just backup?

I think there is an app on Cydia that backs up data without syncing, but after a restore with a firmware upgrade, I don't know if it will keep the data.

Backup my iPhone would only backup my contacts/emails, but not my songs/video/apps. I just want to "leave" the contents after jailbreaking it.

You cannot keep any data on the iPhone when jailbreaking. It requires you to do a full restore and all data will be lost if not backed up. You should have all of your media and data backed up or on a hard drive if you wish to keep it.
