I'm fairly new to the Iphone world, just having bought my 3GS the day it came out and jailbreaking for the first time. Loving it so far.

I have JBd via redsnow, used Cydia to install LockCalendar, iSmart dialer, Winterboard, Elert, etc. Also using a complete Pittsburgh Steelers theme for my wallpaper, icons, etc. Some of the icons were just transparent NFL logos, so I created my own icons and replaced them in the proper themes folder via SSH.

My question is this. What is the best way to backup all of the above in case if I have to restore for whatever reason? I know the normal apps and settings are backed up in Itunes. I would just hate to have to recreate all of the above work.

Thanks for your help.

Download aptbackup and run it and backup the phone before you restore. Then restore from your backup and rejailbreak. Download aptbackup and you will have the option to redownload everything you had from Cydia without having to go a redownload everything manually.

SSH into your phone, right click on your theme folder, and hit "copy". The select a location outside of your phone and paste it.

If you ever have to restore, you can re-jailbreak and drag that folder back into your phone and not have to worry about creating all of your custom icons again.

The rest of the stuff you have installed you can follow the AptBackup path or just redo it. It can't really take that long to install a couple modifications.

Get ready for your iPhone to start messing up, because of that steelers theme, immediatly remove the the steelers theme and replace it with a Dallas cowboys theme.:D
