Hi

I have 2 external 500gb HDDS + 1 500gb internal

I have a huge collection of linux isos on my hdd (they are backups from a site)

when i try and move these .img/.iso files to my external HDD's i get an error " transfer could not be completed" "error code 1390" (something like that)

is this a known problem?

how can this be resolved?

ty for your help

note : the image files are 3-5gbs in size

smaller .iso's transfer fine 1-3gb in size

What format are the backup drives? Is there enough space on the drive? How are they connected to your Mac?

The drives are connected Via USB 2.0, They are formatted using Disk Utility. File format is Fat DOS.

OSX recognises these drives perfectly, its just that transfers of big files seems to fail at the last minute.

There is more than eneough space to add the files

Sorry, but it's a FAT32 limitation. Is there any way you can break the files down to below 4GB? Apps like Split&Concat may help. :)

Why didnt i think of that before.

i formatted into FAT cause i needed it to be windows compatible. oh well ill have to split em with unrar

TY for your help
