Thanks to a suggestion by a member here, I backup my iDisk with SuperDuper. However, since upgrading to 10.6, I've had problems with SuperDuper. Yes, I upgraded to 2.6.1, but it still has problems. I tried CCC, but it wasn't able to backup iDisk at all for some reason. Is there another application I could use? Thanks! :D

"Backup.app"

I could be stating the obvious (been known to happen) however, I use 'Backup'.
Downloaded it from iDisk, it's far from perfect (try forcing it to use remote volumes rather than iDisk) but it's FREE

Hope this helps:D

ok, I probably should have made my question a lot more clear. I want to backup iDisk to my computer. I'm afraid Apple's sometimes-screwy syncing might corrupt my files.

I am not sure but I may have been the one to suggest this to you... Anyway, I did read on the SuperDuper website that if you are using "scheduled copies", they need to be deleted and recreated to work. I will test mine and let you know :)

I tried that just now - didn't seem to work either. In fact, I can't even get manual backups to work.

Hmmmm. Are you using your iDisk locally? If not, that may be the problem. You would use SuperDuper to backup the locally copy.. At least, that is what I do. I am not sure but I don't think that SD would be able to Backup the on-line iDisk...

Yes, it;s the local copy

I should add that since SuperDuper is giving so much trouble, I'm more than willing to settle for a much less convenient solution, but one that works. For instance, is there some sort of script that will grab a copy of the iDisk sparseimae, rename it to yyyy-mm-dd and move it to a folder called "backup" in Documents? I hardly use it for anything besides pages and numbers documents, so size isn't a problem at all.

It would be hard to find something more reliable then SuperDuper. Are you using the paid version?

Yes, but I've had it with SuperDuper. For the past few days it worked again, and then today, it stopped working.

Isn't there a simple script that does the following: copy the idisk sparse image to ~\Documents\Backup and rename it to yyyy-mm-dd? That's all I needed from SuperDuper when it was working, and would be a perfect substitute now that SuperDuper has stopped working
