Hello there!

I clicked a lot of live photos on iPad Pro. I moved them all from Photos to Files. They are no longer live photos. Live effect is lost. I tried importing them again into the Photos app, they are still static, no movement.

Have those photos permanently lost live effect?

How do I backup other live photos to avoid live effect? I have a Samsung android phone and a Windows laptop. I do not want to backup them on iCloud or other cloud backup services.

I hope someone can help.

Thanks

If you only have 1 Apple device, Microsoft OneDrive is the only one that I know that can backup Live Photos and allow you to view them as if you are previewing them in an Apple device... You can download from the OneDrive app to save back to your iPad and they will remain as Live Photos...

Google Photos used to show Live Photos as if you are previewing them in an Apple device but the functionality seems to have been broken...
