backup phone with iPhone plan

I am aware you can use the iPhone sim in another phone say to use as an occasional backup but I was wondering how the plans work.

If you are using the backup phone how would text messages work? Do they simply come out of the alotment you have on your iPhone plan or since you are not using the iphone are you charged per message?

EGDE with n95 on iphone plan

Another question, I'll probably be moving to the nokia N95 from my iphone because I've had nothing but bad experiences with it. I can't cancel my plan anymore so will ATT care if I just use my n95 on the iphone plan? Will EDGE still work?

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience...

As long as you don't tell ATT it should be fine. If you have a dumbphone lying around you could also report that as being your new phone, the dumbphone internet plans are the same as the iphone ones.

Yes it will work including data.. On my SYNC I can use XM Mobile and MEdia Net but it tells me I need an unlimited data plan (mediamax) to use Cellular Video.

Works beautifully.
