iPhone X BackUp/Restore ?

My wife has an iPhone 6 and is getting my son's iPhone X.

6 is on 12.4.4 the latest she can do.

Can I backup the 6 to my MacBook iTunes. Her account. And then restore to the X which is on latest iOS.

Or, do I need to downgrade X to 12.4.4 if that is possible.


Otherwise, will just set up as new.

1) You can't downgrade iOS.
2) Why not? You can restore the backup as long as iOS version of the backup is older than on the device.
