I've recently installed Leopard, but haven't used the Time Machine feature yet. I hope it will make backups very easy. I guess the easiest way to have things backed up and accessible, is to have a big internal drive and then an external drive with room enough for a complete copy of the internal drive.
So a 250GB internal plus an 250GB external would work.To make room for versioning I can't back everything up, then but that's probably OK? Won't need to back up OS X, applications and swap files etc.
I've seen the Lacia All terrain external disks and they look like something I need. Small, with no need for external powersupply and rugged.
My 2.0 Ghz Macbook Pro came with a 80GB HDD. I am thinking about buying a new one and install it myself.
I'm considering a 250 GB/5400 rpm from either Samsung or Western Digital. But maybe if 7200rpm has a lot better performance, I should consider that. Does anyone have experiences with 7200rpm performance vs. battery life?
