Just upgraded my mac.
2011 to 2012.
I can see why the word ‘upgrade’ might cause amusement.
The new 2012 has dual boot. With Catalina and Sonoma. The person I bought from was really knowledgable in computing and macs so I am confident.
My 2011 has been used to the max. I put 16gb in as well as a 1tb SSD and recently a brand new battery.
And want for a better word it started to slow down. I had everything on back up and erased everything. It was a good time to ‘upgrade’ as a lot of letters on keyboard not even legible.
So. Can I stick my 16gb ram from my 2011 into my nee 2012. Which only has 8gb ram. I was told I can. As it wil just have a few less MHz.
And same with battery. Was told I can put this brand new battery in my 2012. No pony moving SSD for now as this nee 2012 has a 1tb SSD.
Is running Sonoma on this max advisable? The dual boot thing cause slowness??
Thoughts welcome.
