im about to set up my mbp.. im just wondering if there r certain apps , ppc or intel, that peopl would recomend NOT installing as they might cause the machine to slow down or system conflicts.. last time i just put everythin on and for example i put an old version of stuffit [ppc] and this would run at start up using a coupl of gigs of vm.. i think over the 4 weeeks ive used this mbp its got gradualy slower..

what other recomendations can peopl giv to ensur that it runs th fastest posible?

Don't install haxies or other UI "enhancers" like ShapeShifter or themes. These items put your uptime in jeopardy.

I've also been wondering about this as lately i've been seeing that spinning colour wheel an awful lot lately. And things seem generally laggy.

[Edit]: What do people recommend you get rid off out of all the stuff OSX comes with?

Languages, apps and printer drivers you don't see yourself using

Me i took out all languages except English, only left HP drivers and removed Garageband & iDVD. Saved about 12GB.
