I've tried making and answering two different calls on my 2012 Mac Mini with a Logitech webcam as the microphone source. Both times the audio I hear is high pitched like the Chipmunks characters. The audio the other persons hears is extremely deep like I'm using a voice box. The source device is an iPhone 6. Anyone else have this issue?

I used the Logitech for FaceTime video and audio before with no issues.

I can't get my webcam mic to work at all with phone calls. In my research though, I think I have a fix for your chipmunk problem...

Utilities -> Audio Midi Setup -> Select 32,000 or 48,000 (But not 16,000 - that's what's causing it)

Anyone have any tips for phone calls using my "Unknown USB Device" mic, I'd really appreciate it.

Tested a lot and all are basey

I did a bunch of tests calling my home message box from the iMac and phone. I used a Blue Yeti microphone, the iMac mic, and a Logitech headset. All had a really rumbly / basey sound to them. I toggled over to the iPhone and both the speakerphone and internal mic had much more balance to them.

Work is needed on the incoming audio quality. Ideally there would be some ability to change the tone of the mic.

My output sound quality is fine but I'd like to adjust the call volume independently of the general volume.

Thank you! This fixed my chipmunk sound problem. I know it's an old thread, but I figured I'd give it a bump because it was helpful :)

Another bump for a great tip. I'd never have figured this one out.
