How much space does BC2 require or take up (steam version if possible) on your boot camp partition? I'm trying to see what I can get by with space wise on a fresh stripped down windows 7 install + bc2.
How much space does Black Ops require as well once its installed?

I'm also curious how my performance will be with the SSD + 8GB of ram.

Really? Thanks!
I was aiming for 35~40gb for the bootcamp partition, solely for BC2 or Black Ops.

I'd aim a little higher. I think I started with 30gb then repartitioned a couple times. 60 is doing me ok now I think. There just seems to crop op SOMETHING else I want on that HD, a new game to try or what not.

60 is ridiculous imo, Keep it mind i'm on a 160gb SSD with about 80gb of free space. I'm gonna setup a virtual machine here in a bit and see just exactly how much space it will use. I'm ballparking 40gb should be enough.

Fair enough, but it is a pain to re-size partititions and if you have space for your bootcamp partition to be at least 60GB you will save yourself loads of trouble in the future.

(I assume you won't be trying to run games on a VM, as that performance would be dire!)

40 gigs would be enough for those two games (but note that BO downloads more files than is necessary to play, as it says on the Steam page, so you need to delete some after install), so if you're sure you won't want to play more games in the future, then go ahead.

Erased my SSD's tonight, and than partitioned the drives with 35GB allocated to Bootcamp and everything else to OSX.
Everything is running perfect, tweaked my 7 install once I logged in and installed BC2. I'm sitting at around 8gb free on my 7 install.

Now the problems, having the bootcamp partition for whatever reason now slowed down the boot time for OSX. It used to take one full rotation of the loading wheel before I could type my password. Now it takes 5 or 6, is this normal behavior with bootcamp partition?

BC2 runs pretty gun at 1280x800 with low-med details, and surprised to say it doesn't look half bad. Performance isn't great but it is acceptable, 30ish fps steady. I did modify BC2 settings.ini however.

EDIT: Ran Onyx once I got into OSX and it looks like my boot up time issue has been fixed. Its back to normal now.

I hope these will help others, BC2 screenshots running on the mbp in my signature.

Mixture of low/med settings with very very playable gameplay whether in a vehicle or on foot. Explosions or not.
