I am living overseas and just had a DVD shipped here from the states (to comply with region codes, not worth getting into again) and it won't play in DVD player. It will play with VLC. And every other DVD I have will play in DVD player. Is it a bad disc? I want a DVD that will play on my home system when I get back, so if its a bad disc I want to return it, but if it is just DVD player acting up I will keep it. Shipping is a hassle and all. Thanks

sorry for the double post, forgot to say what was happening  DVD player plays the first 30 seconds (the production company logo) and then, nothing. it is still "playing" i.e. the pause button still shows, but the clock won't move past 30 seconds. ok there ya go.

k

sounds like ur disc is dirty or bad as dvd player is reading try usinf dvd backup application and then running backup of dvd off ur hd
