After having my MBP for almost two months, two pixels went dead just now. One is permanently white, and the other permanently dark. I wanted to send the machine in to have the screen inverter buzz fixed, and now am hoping that dead pixels fall under warranty as well. Any experience out there? Thanks.

apple will only cover dead pixels once you reach a certain amount (i dont remember what it was, but off the top of my head i think it was like 8 or something for single dead pixels, and less if they're clustered together).

on the flip side though, if the pixels are just stuck, you could try massaging it gently to get it unstuck again. Use a soft cloth and rub it, or a soft pencil eraser-kind of thing.

Thanks Janey, the massage therapy worked, like magic! The getting stuck of both pixels must have been related (although they're half an inch apart), since it appeared at the same time, and both went back to normal when I massaged the one.
