My phone has started acting up, again.... :(

It now no longer turns the screen off when held against the face. The screen will stay lit for about 2 min then goes black. When the call is done it remains black. I have to hit the power button for it to come back to life. There is nothing covering the sensors and the screen is clean. I did a pwnage restore of 2.2.1 but no luck. Anyone face this same issue?

I can't be sure about when this started but certainly after 2.2.1. My Proximity sensor seems to be more sensitive. I have had a leather flip case for months. Took awhile to realize it (thought the update the made my phone to just crash intermittently), but it is the case that causes the phone to prematurely black out on voice mail and calling while sitting on the table for example. I move the leather case supports away from the sensor area and all is well.
Take the case off and it works fine.
