Having all sorts of fun today. :p Just got a cheap used Radeon HD 5770 via eBay. Although the listing does not specify it as such, it appears to be the Mac version, with the extra "handle"/brace off the end and an Apple-specific part # (639-0675) on it.

However, when I boot up the machine (MP4,1>5,1), I get the first startup chime, then what sounds like "echoes" of the chime continuously until I shut it back down. It's like a repeat of the 2nd half of the startup chime again and again.

Tried this in 2 different machines and got the same result. Is the card bad? Anything else to try? Would a PC ROM cause this? AFAIK, the PC versions should work but w/o a boot screen. PRAM keys have no effect; power cable is connected; both Mac Pros work fine w/ other 5770s.

Thx,
Fred
