I picked up some of the new Airpods and connected them to my XS Max today. Easy.

I set off for a walk and found that Amazon Music via a good 4G connection occasionally either skipped or started playing slowly for a few seconds. Or both.

This would not have happened if I was using my Anker SoundBuds.

This is really disappointing as I have a load of recent Apple gear and hoped to enjoy using the Airpods with all of it. I have done a search and seen that it isn't uncommon. The usual suggestion is to reset them but needing to do that after only ten minutes from pairing doesn't seem like a reasonable ask. Playing music on the go with a decent 4G connection doesn't seem like a big ask either. I don't want to return them so I'd appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Do a little test - download the music onto your phone & then try them. This should tell you if streaming over 4G had anything to do with it, or whether it’s the Bluetooth connection between the Airpods & the phone. Or at least narrow down where the issue may be.

Downloaded music gave me the same issue.

Swapping the AirPods to another XS Max showed no issues but pairing other AirPods to my phone gave the same problem.

Only seen with Amazon Music. On my phone. Not on my 11" iPP.

Re-installing Amazon Music on my phone seems to have fixed the issue.

Really pleased with them, for now, at least.
