iPhone Badge on Channels in Apple News on iOS 12 ... bug?

Since upgrading to iOS 12 (and maybe just 12.0.1), there's always a 1 or 2 badge on the Channels icon in my Apple News app (lower right corner). If it's 2, I can usually make it go down to 1 by opening one of the two Apple News editorial channels listed on the top, but the 1 never goes away, and it's just annoying. Does anyone else have this issue too? Any fix ideas?

Scroll to the bottom and look at saved stories. After you click that and then go back I bet your 1 goes away.

That didn’t fix it, but I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app and that seems to have fixed it.

Strange. I had never looked at until I read this thread and I had the same 2 you had. Glad it worked for ya anyway.
