Hi everyone,
I have Baldur's Gate for mac os , but I have a MacBook (Intel based) and when I try to run it I get the error:
"You cannot open the application "Baldur's Gate" because it is not supported on this system"

Requirements of the game says it needs "Mac OS 8.1 or higher", but when the game was out, mac os x wasn't released :)
I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11

What can I do now?
I hope some1 can help me...

You have intel. It's a PPC program. Worked well on my G3 iMac back in the day. You may try running it in Rosetta mode. That might help it work. Click get info on the program file.

It is a Classic Game (Pre-OS X). Classic Games run only in OSX with OS9 installed. This is something you can't do on an Intel Mac. There is no way to run it on your system.

Sorry,

TEG

Yeah good point I haven't used classic on my G3 in a while. Yeah you require OS 9 for that game.

thanks

thanks for your help... I've tried Rosetta mode but, this option doesn't exist apparently for Baldur's Gate.
Now I'll look for emulators.
So, it seems that I there is no way to play the game... :(

You could buy the cheap video game system from 8 years ago called the G3 iMac and play it perfectly well if you have $50 to spend. ;)
